Poetry Reading & Book Release Party with UWG Profs Melanie Jordan & L.S. McKee

UWG Professors Laura McKee and Melanie Jordan will be reading their poetry at Underground Books on DECEMBER 3rd, at 7:00 p.m., with holiday type party to follow. Bring your favorite batch of cookies or snack to share.

Melanie Jordan's book, Halleleujah For the Ghosties, is forthcoming in 2014 from Sundress Press. Her work has appeared in Iowa Review, Third Coast, Diagram, Crab Orchard Review, Black Warrior Review, Poetry Southeast, and others.

L.S. McKee's poems have recently appeared in Gulf Coast, New England Review, Blackbird, Ninth Letter, Indiana Review, Appalachian Heritage, and The Louisville Review among other journals. She received her MFA from the University of Maryland and a Wallace Stegner Fellowship in poetry from Stanford University. A Pushcart Prize nominee, she has also received fellowships and awards from the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference, the Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg Memorial Prize, and Berea College’s Appalachian Sound Archives. Originally for East Tennessee, she lives in Atlanta and teaches at the University of West Georgia.
