The Brick & Mortar Bookstore
You're sure to find the magic of books just a few steps down a staircase from a bustling street in a quaint downtown in Georgia, where a hundred-year-old basement holds an archway made of books, a fireplace stuffed with letters from a school for sorcery, and bookshelves full of stories ready to enchant you. Underground Books is a charmingly eccentric bookshop actually located underground, several steps below street level in historic downtown Carrollton, Georgia.
Our Mission
Our mission is to foster a more literate and free-thinking West Georgia and to nurture the next generation of book lovers and collectors.
UndergroundBooks.Net
Our online store is intended as a space to highlight our more uncommon and rare books for a wider audience than the foot traffic we get on Adamson Square. Our online inventory is housed off site. If you are a local customer and would like to see an item from our website, please contact us, and we would be pleased to transfer the item to the shop for your viewing or purchasing convenience.
Hills & Hamlets Bookshop

In September of 2016, our sister store, Hills & Hamlets Bookshop, opened its doors in the nearby community of Serenbe. Located in the Atlanta metropolitan area within gorgeously rural Chattahoochee Hill Country, Serenbe is a New Urbanist community focused on the arts, agriculture, health & wellbeing, and education. With sections representing each of Serenbe's principles and the fiction, children's, and popular titles that make an indie bookstore great, Hills & Hamlets Bookshop offers a charming literary, intellectual, and cultural experience.
Josh Niesse & Megan Bell, Owners

Megan earned a bachelor’s degree in English literature with a minor in creative writing from the University of West Georgia in 2013.
