Josh and Megan met just after Josh opened the doors of Underground Books, a charmingly eccentric bookshop several steps below street level in historic downtown Carrollton, Georgia in March of 2011. They were married in May of 2014, and now operate their book business together. After nearly 15 years running two open shops and a rare book online office, Josh and Megan sold their open shop, rechristened The Underground Bookshop to store manager Anna Anabseh Clark. You can now find Megan and Josh at the offices of Underground Books, ABAA.
Josh graduated from Western Kentucky University with a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and a minor in religion. Megan earned a bachelor’s degree in English literature with a minor in creative writing from the University of West Georgia in 2013. Megan, Josh, and inventory manager Miranda McMillan have each attended the Colorado Antiquarian Book Seminar, Josh in 2011 on a scholarship from AbeBooks, Megan in 2014 on a scholarship from the Antiquarian Booksellers’ Association of America (ABAA), and Miranda in 2015 on a scholarship from the Georgia Antiquarian Booksellers Association. Megan attended Rare Book School's History of the Book course and is also a graduate of the ABAA Mentorship Program.

The Brick & Mortar Bookstore: Our Beginnings
In March 2011, Josh opened the doors of Underground Books, located several steps below street level in historic downtown Carrollton, Georgia. Megan walked in 10 days later, and soon enough they were wed and running two open shops and a rare book office together! After 15 years of serving West Georgia, Megan and Josh sold the open shop to store manager Anna Anabseh Clark. Now Underground Books, ABAA offers rare, antiquarian, and collectible books online, and you can visit Anna at The Underground Bookshop, which remains, full of books and magic and the archway of books Josh and Megan were wed under, at 102 Alabama Street off Historic Adamson Square.
