Quint is a dazzling and inventive novel based on a true story of the Dionne quintuplets―the first quintuplets known to have survived their infancy. Born during the Great Depression, the quintuplets are taken from their homes and turned into a tourist attraction in Canada in the 1940s, leading to a lifelong struggle against the abuses of their profiteers.
Recently serving as a professor of English at the University of West Georgia, Dionne Irving has published fiction and nonfiction in The Missouri Review, Boulevard Magazine, The Crab Orchard Review, and other places. Her essay “Living with Racial Fatigue” was chosen as a 2017 Notable Essay in the Best American Essays collection. Her second book Islands will be published in 2022 by Catapult.
