1889 Photo Album With 31 Photos Belonging to William Beasley of Petersburg Virginia Prince George County Braxton Coalter

1890.

10.5" x 8". 34pp. Antique photo album with ownership note on first page of William Beasley "Puddle Jack" Prince George County, Virginia 1889. Includes 31 photos, 28 of people and 3 duplicates of a house. Most photos have handwritten notes on the back. Appears to be mostly William's extended family and friends, with name notations (made out to the best of our ability) including, but not limited to: Virginia Braxton, Julia Homson, Virginia Coalter, William Howard Parkinson, Walter Kennedy, Fannie Cameron Morse, Lily Hope Norton, Evermont Hope Norton, R.H. Gaines, Letitia Conway, John Thomas Holder (or Holden?), Willia Page (possibly William Nelson Page), Harry B. Riddle, T.E. Wilkinson.

A number of these names appear to be prominent business or community leaders of the time in their area, though our research into them was cursory.

Album itself is in poor to fair condition, with the spine completely gone, though reinforced hinges are keeping the binding held fast. Metal clasp no longer works and is partially detached. Photos themselves are mostly well-preserved, with occasional fading. See listing photos for more condition details. Good. Item #7101
