New York Fashions, Spring & Summer 1907 (Vol. 10, No. 1, February 1907)

New York: National Cloak & Suit Co., 1907.

First Edition. Staplebound wraps. 9 3/8" X 7". 60pp, plus order forms and size guide. Blank post card for requesting sample materials laid in, with heavy toning to front pastedown. Pictorial staplebound paper wraps show moderate wear, with open tears to corners of upper wrap and mild creasing and dust soiling. Binding is sound. Pages are clean and unmarked. A beautifully illustrated trade catalog featuring the spring and summer fashions of 1907, with black silk coats, petticoats, jackets, visiting costumes, skirts, drawers, dresses, and nightgowns, with charming images of women strolling, chatting, and posing throughout. The National Cloak & Suit Company is credited by many as being the first mail order clothing store; their flagship store in New York City opened its doors in 1888, and executives soon decided to add a mail order arm to reach rural women. Very good. Item #3189
