ABOUT THIS BOOK:
The Tibetan Book of the Dead (originally titled Bardo Thödol, meaning “Liberation Through Hearing in the Bardo”) is a Tibetan Buddhist text intended to guide the soul through the process of death and rebirth.

It describes the stages a person experiences after dying—called bardos—including visions of peaceful and wrathful deities, karmic illusions, and opportunities for liberation. The text is read aloud to the dying or recently deceased to help them recognize these experiences and attain enlightenment or a favorable rebirth.

Compiled in the 8th century and attributed to Padmasambhava, it reflects Tibetan Vajrayana beliefs and blends Buddhist philosophy with ritual and cosmology. Good / good. Item #17005
