Profusely illustrated throughout with engravings, the volume offers a vivid picture of fin-de-siècle outdoor life in the United States.
This copy has been finely re-bound in modern half-leather over marbled boards with gilt titling to spine. Inscribed on the front flyleaf by editor William Bruce Leffingwell, noted for his contributions to sporting literature, and dated "Sept 22nd, 1915." The recipient's name is unverified, but appears to be “William [middle name undeciphered] Carlson." A few pages have minor chips or small closed tears to the edges, with some scattered age toning throughout.
Overall a clean and complete copy in a beautiful binding, enhanced by the authorial inscription. A fine addition to any collection of American sporting books, 19th-century outdoors writing, or decorative leather-bound volumes. Very good. Item #16806
