Bill Curry was the head coach of the University of Alabama football team from 1987 to 1989. During his tenure, Curry had a record of 26-10. Despite winning a share of the SEC Championship in 1989 and achieving three consecutive bowl appearances, Curry faced significant pressure and criticism from fans and boosters who were not satisfied with his performance, particularly due to losses against key rivals such as Auburn and Tennessee. This led to a strained relationship with the Alabama fan base and ultimately contributed to his decision to leave Alabama and accept the head coaching position at the University of Kentucky after the 1989 season. Very good. Item #15634
