Mild wear to jackets with toning to covers and creasing and some chipping to corners and edges. Sunning to spines of both jackets. Bound in blue cloth over boards with spines and front covers stamped in gilt. Bumps to corners. Spines are lightly faded. Top-edge gilt. Front hinge of volume I is beginning to start, with connective mesh visible at bottom. However, hinge remains secure. Pages are lightly age-toned, but are clean and unmarked. Bindings are sound. An overall clean, solid set on the life and letters of Polish-British author, Joseph Conrad (1857 – 1924). Good + / Good +. Item #8968
