ABOUT THIS BOOK:
This is an account of a journey in India, from Banaras up towards the source of the Ganges, in search of holy men. Father Denys, a Benedictine monk himself, was curious about the nature of Hinduism and the idea of the true Yogi or saint. As a contemplative who had come to India to assist in the foudning of a monastery, Father Denys had a natural sympathy for the Hindu tradition of sannyasa, which so closely resembles the Christian monastic ideal.(Publisher).
