Second printing. Hardcover. Published anonymously, The Last Egyptian is an adult adventure novel penned by Wizard of Oz author L. Frank Baum, inspired by the works of H. Rider Haggard and directed and starring J. Farrell MacDonald. This is a very presentable early printing of the novel, the basis for the 1914 film written and produced by Baum and illustrated in frontispiece and seven color plates by Francis P. Wightman.
7 1/2" X 5 3/8". Bound in full deep blue with pictorial label to upper board and spine lettered in white. Moderate wear to binding, with scattered rubbing, scuffing to pictorial label, light white stains to rear board, and fading to lettering at spine. Bookseller's ticket of Miller's Bookstore in Atlanta to rear pastedown. Foxing to endpapers. Inner hinges reinforced with binder's glue. Binding is firm and sound. Pages are clean and unmarked. Good.
