ABOUT THIS BOOK:
The recent massive earthquakes of 2015 struck the high heart of Nepal leaving villagers stranded in an unfathomable reality after the clouds of red clay, smoke and dust of crushed stone settled. With thousands of images of the remote areas of Upper Gorkha made during a recent humanitarian trek, photographer Cira Crowell compiled a luminous glimpse into the beautiful hidden valleys many days beyond the trailhead. It is unclear how many of the structures are still standing. The people and culture have certainly been challenged. Introductions by Cira Crowell, Nepali mountaineer Pasang Lhamu Sherpa Akita and Buddhist teacher Roshi Joan Halifax, who has travelled widely in Nepal for the past thirty years. Very good +.
