Girard, Kansas: Haldeman-Julius Publications, circa 1939.
Staplebound wraps. 5" X 3 3/8". 62pp. Small staplebound catalog of Little Blue Book titles. Mild wear to wraps, with small tear at head of spine and rectangle of faint toning to upper wrap. Binding is firm and sound. Pages are age-toned, else clean and unmarked. Called “the Henry Ford of literature” by the St. Louis Dispatch, The Little Blue Book series was an extremely popular and affordable series meant to fit a working man’s pocket and went on to fit the pockets of such Little Blue Book enthusiasts as W. E. B. Du Bois, Louis L'Amour, Saul Bellow, Harlan Ellison, Ralph Ellison, and Studs Terkel. Due to the series’ inclusion of such subjects as atheism, sexuality, and socialism, the FBI under J. Edgar Hoover put E. Haldeman-Julius on their enemies list. Good +. Item #5921
