Princeton; New York: Princeton University Press; Pantheon Books; Bollingen Foundation, 1964-1969.
Hardcover. 9 1/2" X 6 3/8". xxii, 443pp; viii, 389pp. Two volumes out of the three volume set. Bound in blue cloth over boards, with Bollingen device to upper board and spine in gilt with lettering in kind to spine. Mild edgewear to bindings. Volume II shows extensive dampstaining to bottom edge of boards and text-block, unintrusive to text legibility. Previous owner's name to front pastedowns. Pencilled notes to Volume I. Bindings are firm and sound. An admittedly worn pair, but a solid, readable set of the first two volumes in Paul Friedlander's discussion of the ancient Greek philosopher and his work. Good.
