The work of British playwright Lady Florence Bell (1851-1930), this book nearly bursts with her creativity as it stages the plays for beloved fairy tales Ali Baba, or the Forty Thieves, Rumpelstiltzkin, Red Riding Hood, Beauty and the Beast, Jack and the Beanstalk, Cinderella, Foolish Jack, The Golden Goose, The Tinder-Box, The Three Wishes, The Emperor's New Clothes, The Fisherman and His Wife, The Sleeping Beauty, and Bluebeard, each thoroughly and fantastically illustrated by the great Lancelot Speed, best known for his illustrations to Andrew Lang's fairy books and H. Rider Haggard's She and later as a director of several early British silent films.
