This charming mid-century scrapbook features the adventures of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Weller of Battle Creek, Michigan on their road trip to St. Petersburg, Florida. Traveling through Indiana, Kentucky, Tennesee, and Georgia from January 3rd, 1951 and returning March 11th, this scrapbook features receipts for motels and pharmacies and Stuckey's fine pecan candies, many vivid color postcards, a church bulletin, and even two toothpicks, still in their individual wrappings, from The Sunshine Room in St. Petersburg, annotated throughout in ink. Bound in a cord-tied red paper scrapbook, with gilt lettering to upper board. Pages age-toned and rather brittle, with tear up gutter of first leaf. A charming midcentury travelogue, covering 481 miles. Good. Item #5554
