Mild edgewear to bindings, with some edgewear and very small closed tears to heads and tails of spines. Gift inscription to front free endpapers dated Christmas 1895. Red silk placemarkes present. Bindings are sound. Pages are clean and unmarked. A stunning and complete set of this travelogue of Holland by the Italian novelist, journalist, poet Edmondo De Amicis (1846-1908), illustrated with a folding map and 44 photogravure plates, including famous historical buildings, city streets, and iconic countryside scenes capturing the spirit of the Dutch country and people.
