Red cloth over boards, ruled in gilt, with pictorial paper label to upper board and spine lettered in gilt. Glossy film covering pictorial paper label chipped and peeling up from label. Mild edgewear and light scattered rubbing to cloth. Poinsettia sticker to front free endpaper. Both hinges starting to crack, with webbing visible; rear hinge very tender and close to separating. Text block remains sound. Pages are very gently age-toned, but clean and unmarked. An admittedly worn but still quite handsome first printing of these tales of shooting and fishing by conservationist and beloved nature writer Theophilus Nash Buckingham (1880–1971), illustrated throughout in frontispiece and eleven images.
