Severe wear to binding, with splits to cloth, boards exposed and torn at extremities, soiling and dampstaining to cloth, lettering dimmed to spine, and both hinges cracking, with webbing visible. Heavy foxing to endpapers. Pages are very musty. Dampstains to far margin and inner top corner of every page. Occasional foxing throughout. Small tear to bottom edge of pages 220-242. An admittedly very worn and musty, but complete first printing of this life of Washington written for children by Frederick Trevor Hill with frontispiece and 26 glorious full color plates, 10 of which are double-page full spreads, by French illustrator Job (1858-1931).
