New York: Duell, Sloan and Pearce, 1945.
First Edition. Hardcover. 8 3/8" X 5 5/8". 213pp. Lacking dust jacket. Brick red cloth over boards, with spine lettered in black. Moderate wear to binding, with bumping to corners, rubbing to extremities, scattered light soiling, and faint dampstain to upper board. Lean to spine. Front hinge starting to crack, with webbing visible; rear hinge tender. World War II-era paper gently age-toned, with very occasional mark in red ink to pages throughout. An admittedly worn but still quite presentable first printing of this collection of Chicago murder cases. Good. Item #4300
