Tear to front pastedown. Hinges tender, with tear to rear inner hinge. Binding remains sound. Previous owner's name to front free endpaper, dated 1893, with notes to rear free endpaper. Pages are clean and unmarked. An admittedly edgeworn but still quite handsome 1875 printing of both volumes in one of the letters and biography of historian, essayist, and Whig politician Thomas Babbington Macaulay (1800-1859), by his nephew G.
