New York: Harper & Row, 1966.
Stated First Edition. Hardcover. 9 1/2" X 6 1/2". x, 372pp. Inscribed by Sarnoff on the half-title page "To Serge, Louise, and Irene / With all good wishes / David / 2/27/66". Bookseller notes in pencil also present. Bookplate of Irene Hermann on front endpaper. Heavily edgeworn and soiled slipcase, with tears along edges. Blue cloth over boards, with upper board lettered in gilt and spine lettered in kind, over red, with gilt embellishments. A touch of shelfwear to binding. Top edge gilt. Pages 109 to 112 have extensive tears and creases, as if the book was at one point dropped and it landed open to these pages. Book itself would be in very good condition, these pages aside. Binding is firm and sound. Pages are otherwise unmarked. An admittedly flawed, but still presentable first printing, signed by Sarnoff, of Eugene Lyons' biography of the Belarusian born, American rags-to-riches success David Sarnoff, businessman, pioneer of television and radio, and leader of the Radio Corporation of America (RCA) from 1919 to 1970. Fair. Item #4201
