Hardcover. 6 5/8" X 4". Unpaginated, 48 leaves for signatures. No date of publication listed, circa early 1900s, with gift inscription to front free endpaper dated 1913, and "skeletons" ranging from 1913-1915. This format was also published under the title "The Ghosts of My Friends." Presents nicely in protective archival jacket. Green cloth over boards, with pictorial label to upper board and upper board and spine lettered in black. Moderate edgewear to biding, with faint spot of soiling to boards, light fraying to head and tail of spine, and gentle bumping to extremities. Gift inscription to front free endpaper and notes from a camping trip from 1988 to verso of rear free endpaper. Binding is firm and sound. 48 leaves for signatures, with blanks for date and name, 19 signed, with an additional perhaps 1988 signature near the back, and 28 blank, all pages with fold crease. Directions: "Sign your name with full pen of ink on folded line. Use stub pen. Fold paper while ink is still wet. Writing and folding must be done quickly to obtain good results. Be careful to dot the i, and to place the period at the end of the name." Printed facsimile example following directions attributed to a twelve year old George Washington. A very amusing and truly novel autograph book from the early 20th century. Very good. Item #4120
