Wraps. Each issue signed in pencil by Charles Gatewood at rear wrap. Presumed only missing one issue, Vol. 2 No. 2; only three issues are numbered, Vol. 1, Nos. 2 and 5, and Vol. 2, No. 2, all are undated and presumed to be published between 1976 to 1979. This set is presumed to contain issues Vol. 1, Nos. 1-5 and Vol. 2, No. 2, six issues total. Various sizes, at or under 16" X 11 1/4". Unpaginated, each issue consisting of wraps plus folded insert, excepting Vol. 1, No. 5, which consists of three inserts. Moderate edgewear, creasing, toning, and light soiling to wraps, with creasing and wrinkling throughout pages. Each issue in good condition, with the major exception of Vol. 1, No. 2, the tattoo issue, the upper wrap of which shows a 2" tear and the insert of which is torn through the middle, lacking the top 5" of the pages, with consequent losses to images and text.
A signed collection of six issues of this rare photography publication from artist and photographer Charles Gatewood (1942-2016), featuring much of the counterculture of the 1970s through the work of Gatewood as well as George W. Gardner, Oscar Gaylord Herron, David Broda, Karl Baden, tattooist Spider Webb, Jon Reis, Elaine Mayes, Ramon Muxter, Marcia Resnick, Toby Old, and experimental thinker Marco Vassi, to whom the entirety of Vol. 2, No. 2 is dedicated.
