Presentation copy inscribed to Adino Paddock Esquire, Surgeon Civil Branch of Ordnance, signed as "the Author," at front pastedown. Handsome brown clothbound clamshell case with spine lettered in gilt over black, with moderate edgewear and scattered rubbing to cloth. Marbled paper wraps. Heavy wear to wraps and text block, heavily foxed and edgeworn throughout, with damp and inkstains, small tears to spine and edges, and creasing to extremities.
