First Edition. Hardcover. 8 1/4" X 6". viii, 120pp. Embossed dark green cloth over bevelled boards, with upper board stamped in gilt. Rather heavy wear to binding, with corners torn and turned in, tears to head and tail of spine, scattered rubbing, and light soiling. Both hinges tender, with webbing visible at places. Binding remains quite sound. Tissue-guarded frontispiece of Fanny Campbell shows rather heavy foxing. Occasional scattered foxing throughout. Pages are otherwise unmarked. A worn but solid and still quite attractive first printing of the life and letters of Fanny Campbell, founder of Faith Home for Incurables in Brooklyn, New York. Established in 1875 at 546 Park Place, Faith Home housed and cared for homeless women with terminal illnesses. OCLC shows 3 holdings at time of posting. Good. Item #3744
