Rather heavy edgewear to binding, with tears to cloth at corners and head and tail of spine, losses to head and tail of spine, and corners turned in. Hard lean to spine. Some gatherings uneven with rest of text block. Bookplate to front pastedown and previous owner's name to front free endpaper. Occasional pencilled marks, inkstains, soiling, and foxing to pages, none obtrustive. Several ribbons laid in. A worn but truly charming 1859 copy of this fifth volume in The Aimwell Stories, a series intended to entertain children and instruct them morally, illustrated throughout. Good. Item #3701
