Berkeley, California; Louisville, Kentucky: Privately Printed, 1987.
Loose_leaf. 13 loose leaf prints, with Terry Kaegin's black and white illustrations to rectos and C. W. Eldridge's text to versos, housed in a 11 1/4" X 9 1/4" black folder, with pictorial title label to front cover loose and laid in, and Eldridge and Kaegin's business cards inserted. Moderate wear to folder, with bumping, creasing, and edgewear. Pictorial title label separating from folder cover, with small stains to label. A touch of edgewear to prints, else fine. Two prints each for Navy Tattooing, Biker Tattooing, and Scarification respectively, with same text but different images. There is no indication of whether or not this is complete.
This pictorial history of the art of tattooing marries the experience of master tattooist, student of Don Ed Hardy, and founder of the Tattoo Archive C. W Eldridge with the stunning, intricate prints of fellow tattoo artist Terry Kaegin in what appears to be a book pitch, covering English tattooing, Navy tattooing, Japanese tattooing, scarification, side show tattooing, punk tattooing, prison tattooing, and biker tattooing, and includes a list for further reading. No other copies found in OCLC, in sales records, or on the market. Very good. Item #3520
