Rather heavy wear to binding, with heavy rubbing to edges and extremities, chipping to pictorial paper, heavy toning and mild soiling to rear board, and tears and losses to spine. Front hinge starting to separate. First plate coming loose, but still attached. Several gatherings starting to come loose at bottom edge. Offsetting to page facing third plate. Toning to supplementary page, laid in. Also laid in, an advertisement for a dream book and a newspaper clipping from 1939. An admittedly worn, but still glamorous copy of this souvenir programme for the great Shakespearean actress, with title and headings by Walter Crane and 8 plates by Nicholson, James Pryde, William Orpen, Byam Shaw, and John S. Sargent, several hand-painted, along with a biographical sketch of Terry by Austin Brereton, several hand-painted.
