First Edition. Hardcover. 8 1/2" X 5 7/8". x, 457pp. Very warmly inscribed by Susan Herring Taynton "(since 1972)" to Mary Anne De Villier at half-title. Rather heavy wear to unclipped dust jacket, with small open tears at edges and extremities, dampstains to rear panel, soiling, toning, and edgewear. Gray cloth over boards, with spine lettered in white. Light shelfwear to binding, with lean to spine. Staining and soiling to edges of text block. Front hinge tender, binding remains sound. De Villier's label to front free endpaper. Light foxing to frontispiece and title, else pages clean and unmarked. A worn but solid signed copy of this memoir of the author's father, David Wells Herring, a Southern Baptist missionary to China for over forty years. Good / fair. Item #3352
