Rather heavy scattered rubbing to silt on boards, with hard bump to top corner of upper board with creasing to board. Slight lean to spine. Rubbing to top edge of text block. All edges gilt. Pale orange silk moire endpapers with gold ribbon placemarker. "Notes from the Archives" laid in. Binding is sound. Pages are clean and unmarked. A worn, but still quite presentable leatherbound edition of one of the most thrilling tales of discovery, introduced by Robert E. Speer and with illustrations after drawings by the author. Good +.
