Heavy wear to binding, with interior hinges cracked and attached only by strings, heavy edgewear, bumping, soiling, and fraying. Free endpapers and first and last two leaves loose and laid in. Previous owner's name to front free endpaper. Age-toning to pages throughout. An admittedly and thoroughly worn copy, but still an amusing one, of this 1882 copendium of snake oil recipes, get rich quick schemes, and quackery of all kinds, as well as information on horse care, cosmetics, mind reading, and more.
