Raleigh, North Carolina: Pi Theta Mu and Sigma Phi Kappa Literary Societies of Peace Institute, 1920.
First Edition. Leather bound. 10 1/2" X 8". 115pp, plus ten leaves of ads. Soft leather over stiff wraps, with upper wrap stamped in gilt. Heavy edgewear to binding, with tearing, chipping, and flaking to leather at edges, as well as heavy scattered rubbing and heavy sunning. 1 1/2" tears to head and tail of spine. Leather rubs off easily to edges at touch. Green silk moire endpapers. Both hinges cracking and taped, many gatherings coming loose. Occasional smudge to pages, else unmarked. An admittedly very worn but still quite lovely original copy of the 1920 yearbook for the women of the Peace Insitute (one of the oldest institutions of higher education for women in America until admitting men in 2012 and renaming to William Peace University), with portraits, songs, rhymes, poems, and other mementos. Fair. Item #2576
