Heavy rubbing to edges and extremities, with hard bumping to corners, sunning to spine, fading to gilt, and moderate scattered rubbing. Fading to marbled endpapers, with bookseller stamp to front pastedown. Mild occasional foxing to pages, else clean and unmarked. Slight lean to spine. Binding is sound. A worn but nice copy of this collection of quotes, flattering and otherwise, on the subject of women from such authors as George Eliot, Tolstoy, Voltaire, Emerson, Shakespeare, Goethe, and Swift.
