Leather bound. 6 5/8" X 4 1/4". xvi, 314pp; vi, 319pp. vi, 314pp. Each volume half-bound in blue calf with marbled paper over boards, gilt-stamped floral compartments to spine, lettered in gilt over burgundy leather labels. All edges marbled, with matching gilt-spotted marbled endpapers. Illustrated throughout by John Leech and George Cruikshank in tissue-guarded frontispiece and several plates to each volume. Rather heavy edgewear to bindings, with exterior hinges and extremities quite rubbed and scattered rubbing to marbled boards. Bindings are sound and interior hinges firm, text blocks are very firm. Pages are clean and unmarked. Each volume presents well in protective archival jacket. An admittedly edgeworn but still quite sumptuous and finely bound three volume set of Richard Harris Barham's classic collection of myths, legends, ghost stories and poetry, written under the pen-name Thomas Ingoldsby.
